ToC HUD behavior and ToC outline

I like a lot the options for ToC HUD in the Preferences panel. But I think one important option is totally missing.
In short: I would like no changes at all in the ToC outline when I switch my document. Now I can choose "Expand TOC outline when switching documents" and "Keep ToC outline expanded" or neither of these options of course ... and these 3 options are good if the ToC is rather short and/or poorly nested or you don't care much about ToC.
But using a 15" MacBook for instance, if I have a rather long nested ToC and I **need** to keep its outline exactly as I want (some closed headings and some others open to fit a temporarily specific outline needs switching document) well ... I can't. Every time I switch to document the ToC outline changes and this can be quite frustrating. So having the option (or even the default) to let the outline "as is" should be very nice.

    Stefano,

Thanks for the feedback. There are limits to what Apple allows in persisting the expand/collapse states of an outline view, but in this particular case I might be able to do something along the lines of your request.

(As an aside, you sent this to the MultiMarkdown support site/address instead of that for Composer, but no need for you to do anything.)

    Thanks again,

    Fletcher

    Hi Fletcher,

Good! :-) I hope you will be able to do something along the lines of mine request.

Because your ToC HUD can be very useful but having a 15" MacBookPro I really had some problems using the ToC HUD conveniently.

    Thanks,
    Stefano
