Superscript at beginning of line produces mixed results when previewed
Just curious if there is something I'm missing, but when I want to denote an affiliation in a manuscript and use something like ^1^Department of Biology, for instance, the '1' is properly superscripted in Composer but when previewed elsewhere (like Marked) only the word "Department" is superscripted. tags work fine everywhere.

So to make sure I understand correctly:
You're writing to ask why my software works correctly, but software by other people doesn't work correctly?
;)
(If I did misunderstand, then please help me to see what I missed.)
You'll have to check with the other developers to find out if they are using out of date versions of MultiMarkdown (or other software altogether). Brett Terpstra (Marked) is very responsive -- he held off from updating to MultiMarkdown-6 in Marked for a while, but I thought he was going to update it (or maybe will soon?). I can't speak for anyone else.
All I can speak for is my software:
* MultiMarkdown itself is updated on GitHub with every change I make (in the develop branch). This is always the most up-to-date version, but requires building it yourself. I generally only recommend this if someone is in contact with me about a bug, and needs access to the fix right away.
* I periodically release new binary versions of MultiMarkdown, which involves an update to the Github master branch and a new version number. Depending on what changes and how busy I am, this can often be a few months behind the development release.
* Every version of Composer is built with the current development branch of MMD at the time of release. This will usually be the second most up-to-date version of MultiMarkdown, behind the Github development branch.
Obviously any bugs in my software are mine to fix. But there's not much I can do about software written by other people.
To my knowledge (and skimming commit messages), I haven't changed anything related to superscripts in > 6 months?

Yep. As you surmised Brett hasn't moved to MMD6 yet. Sorry for the dumb question. Just wanted to determine if there was something I might have been doing incorrectly at my end.

Nope - as far as I can tell you're doing everything correctly.
