similar to the small window opened with the Windows command prompt

<p>multimarkdown -v</p>

line<br>
(shell/DOS Prompt/etc.) You don't run it from a link to the
executable. You run it by typing the command, in this case --
<code>multimarkdown</code>.</p>
<p>Probably worth some Google time to learn about shell
commands.</p>
<p>If you run it from a link, then MMD is already running. So you
have to<br>
type (or paste) your text, and then send the proper signal to
indicate<br>
that you are done -- on *nix terminals, that would be Ctrl-D. Then
it<br>
would display the output HTML.</p>
<p>But it's far more useful to run the full thing as a command,
e.g.:</p>
<pre>
<code>multimarkdown input.txt > output.html</code>
</pre>
<p>for example.</p>

happens nothing in the DOS window. My system is Windows 10. What is
wrong?</p></div>Rolandtag:support.fletcherpenney.net,2013-02-12:Comment/400830982016-08-30T17:25:33Z2016-08-30T17:25:33ZWindows 10 and MultiMarkdown<div><p>Unfortunately, wiithout more information, I can't help.</p>
<p>Is the multimarkdown binary installed somewhere in your PATH?
What happens if you try <code>multimarkdown -v</code> from the
directory where MMD is installed?</p>

<p>1st attempt:<br>
- MMD standard installation on Windows 10 home PC, C:\Program
Files\MultiMarkdown 5.4.0<br>
- MMD commands -v, -h do not work</p>
<p>2nd attempt:<br>
- MMD standard installation on same PC,
C:\Users\Roland\Desktop\MultiMarkdown 5.4.0<br>
- MMD commands -v, -h are working! - but conversion *.txt >
*.html is refused "access denied"</p>
<p>3rd attempt, following the recommendations of my favorite IT
expert (many<br>
thanks, Roberto!):<br>
- Creating "cmd.exe" desktop shortcut - desktop icon right click
"advanced – run as administrator" - admin rights verification
with SFC command - MMD works!! :-)</p></div>Roland Heidrich
