It may or may not end up at the end of the output document, as you note.

This is the correct behavior.

The only problem is that if I want to add text at the very end of a web page, even including the footer as an external file would not address the issue. In my case, it is a copyright notice at the end of the file but it could be anything.

MMD FOOTER gives a useful compactness to the MD file putting the footer at the top. However, functionally, it usefulness is somehow limited. This is obviously my personal opinion - other people may see things in a completely different way.

Unfortunately, as you said, I have control only on the source. The "MMD Footer" would be a good way to extend the control beyond the source.

Perhaps a "HTML Footer" or simply "Footer" in the metadata section could address that. Just a thought...

Thanks!

P.S. I'm addicted to Multimarkdown. I'm recommend it to everybody who needs to publish HTML content. Without a doubt the best Markdown dialect/implementation I have seen.

Max Gtag:support.fletcherpenney.net,2013-02-12:Comment/450577162018-04-09T16:28:43Z2018-04-09T16:28:43ZMMD FOOTER wrong position - possibly

This gets into the edge cases that are best served by controlling the actual raw HTML(or LaTeX or whatever).

XSLT is useful in modifying HTML in specific ways like that, much like MultiMarkdown-CMS does.

It's outside the scope of MMD itself, which by definition will not be capable of every single thing that HTML, LaTeX, and the like can do.
